Well after three days and seven sack fulls of rubbish, old clothes and teddies, Angel has finally purged her room of childish things. And the price of this massive clearout? A trip to IKEA to buy a new desk, "so that I can study for my leaving cert". Obviously. Surprisingly IKEA was absolutely packed out. So some people are still spending money. And why was I dipping into the savings you might ask? Well after the last Budget I figure the Irish Government is just going to keep trying to take more and more money out of the pockets and savings of people like me. But if I spend it first, then they can't, can they? Maybe all the other IKEA customers were thinking the same thing.
Need a new bed for Boo. Was holding off til payday, but maybe I should do it now before the public service unions finish their "work to rule" and getback to cutting our payments?

I love that logic, bit of a shopping trip coming up for me I think!! I have not braved IKEA yet, I would love to go but better wait until I actually need something there. Hhhmm, what needs throwing out?? Jen.
ReplyDeleteWell I'd definitely recommend a trip to IKEA! I was prepared to hate it. I thought it would be cheap and nasty with massive queues and unhelpful or non-existent staff. It does get busy, but no worse than Tesco on a Saturday and I just find it really pleasant. Even CD copes once he has his DS with him..

ReplyDeleteThis is still a place I have to visit and like you we have been doing a major clearout in madam's room, believe me you wouldn't want to see what came out from under the bed!!! Must get there soon, definitely to be done without the kids lol
