What do I do all week? Apart from sitting around drinking coffee of course. Here's a few photographs that might just give you a clue:
Yes I do usually see dawn over Dublin.
Paperwork. Two kids with special needs means that there is always lots of paperwork to do, and it's an excellent excuse for not doing housework. That's my favourite coffee mug. It really is that size :)
Protesting. This time with my son. I know my children have a lot of needs that are costing the State money that could otherwise help zombie banks, but I have to fight for my kids. Sorry.
Hoisting. We both dislike this, but my daughter with cerebral palsy is now too heavy for me to lift her safely, so I have to grit my teeth and use a hoist instead.
Fun with friends at the Rainbow Junior Arch Club, still the one place in real life where I can go with my kids and just relax.
Lots of other bloggers have done the same thing this week and you can see their entries over at Kate's Listography.

Well done you for protesting. Don't ever apologise. Special needs deserves more money and shouldn't be fighting against less.
ReplyDeleteI like this - it's fun getting an insight into your week.
ReplyDeleteI like protesting too :)
ReplyDeletehave had ample opportunities in the crisis.
And my son gives me new reasons.
Hoisting - no fun is it? Even though it saves a lot of back-breaking lifting, it's still a physically demanding chore.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sky in the first picture. Who needs blue skies when you can have pink?
That's the first picture I've seen of Smiley not smiling...she must really not like it :( If I were in charge I would hire a 'hoister' man for all Mums of special needs kids. (Possibly buffed up and topless? :o)
ReplyDeleteI'm finding my protesting voice again, it got squashed by having kids. I am full of admiration, as Gemma says never apologise, and ready to dust off my soap box.
ReplyDelete@Helloitsgemma - I feel like rent-a-protester these days :)
ReplyDelete@Midlife Single Mum - it was fun to do as well x
@Þorgerður - I don't mind protesting, but I certainly wish I didn't have to!
@LUCEWOMAN - I think I may have complained about hoisting before as I'm not a naturally patient person. Glad you like the pink sky pic :)
@Kate - that was her mood at the time, sometimes she will smile, but I rarely do! Oh and an attractive hoister man would certainly brighten up my day :)
@The Alexander Residence - Definitely dust off your soap box ...
Count me number 4 to tell you to rescind that apology. I was going to suggest you delete it, but then these comments would make no sense.
ReplyDeleteEntirely unoriginal today - also noting Smiley's unsmiling face.
@Barbara - I've been told that I apologise too much but I'm now going to say sorry again. I'm sorry this post is unoriginal to you, but you see most of my readers now weren't reading when I mentioned these topics before. Also I did it to entertain myself on a Sunday morning when I was feeling tired and ill - blogging as therapy again if you like. I hope that I'll put something up st you like soon.
ReplyDeleteLovely to see your week - although you can clearly see Smiley doesn't like the hoisting either.
ReplyDeleteOh and I want...no NEED that mug.
xx
Great idea to do your week in pictures :-)
ReplyDelete@SAHMlovingit - if I find another one like that, I'll send it over xx
ReplyDelete@Suburbia - it was fun to do :)
adored your post
ReplyDeleteabsolutely protest
your daughter so completely gorgeous
Good on you for protesting; no idea where you find the time or energy for it but so glad you can! Rainbow Club looks good - that's definitely a happy face :)
ReplyDeleteLoved your photos.. what a great idea! :)
ReplyDelete@Floortime Lite Mama - thank you once again x
ReplyDelete@Steph - the great thing about protesting is that both my kids enjoy it and it gets them out of the house :)
@Di - I thought so too x

Just goes to shpw how different peoples lives are - mine is rather more mundane - except for the coffee - definitely sharing the coffee (taking a slurp of the latest mug!)
ReplyDeleteThis was a fabulous idea for a post..I like seeing pictures of what you are talking about. Sigh...not much of a protester either-that is..not much of a protester when it doesn't concern something going on with my kids at that exact moment...
ReplyDelete@kathleen - I often enjoy taking part in linkies like this one from Kate Takes Five :)
