Mile 18 - the Isle of Dogs, I spent many years manning the feeding station at mile 19 with my Dad's running club. Always great fun as was running it as well.....
Great photo! Just after Mile 18 was when I hit my wall too in 2006. Seemed like a long old way to mile 23 when it got a bit more interesting again! What does your vest say Thurrock ???????
Well done you, I am in awe... even if it was a few years ago! My husband is running 89km's on the 3rd June, that's if his shin splints heal! So I know the effort you put into the training!! :)
Great stuff! Thinking of everyone running it today! :)
ReplyDelete@BavarianSojourn - Me too! I'd love to do it again one day..
ReplyDeleteWell done! I imagine the sense of achievement is overwhelming. Im far too unfit unfortunately with back issues x
ReplyDeleteI wonder what she looked like at the end? Good for her though, and all the runners.
ReplyDelete@Snugglebutt - I don't know if I'll ever be that fit again and I have back issues too!
ReplyDelete@Midlife Singlemum - I hit the famous 'wall' shortly after this photo was taken, but I still finished!
Great photo. Thinking about everyone running this morning.
ReplyDeleteWell done! I wish I had the energy/motivation/commitment/legs to do it myself :)
ReplyDeleteWow....FAB photo!!
ReplyDeletexx Jazzy
Great pic :)
ReplyDeleteWell done! As someone who runs like a penguin, & gets out of breath after a couple of yards, I'm full of admiration for marathon runners xx

@Jane Gregory - I'm sure that's not true xx
@Helen - I didn't know that! Hope the training for your really special marathon challenge is going well xx
@Sarahmumofthree - I'll second that :)
ReplyDeleteLovely photo. Your son is very like you!!! x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful
ReplyDeleteWow, is this you? Fab! :D x

ReplyDelete@Puzzled - some people say he is alright :)
ReplyDelete@Floortime Lite Mama - that might be an exaggeration!
@Beadzoid - that WAS me, 25 years ago, in one of my many incarnations :D
@Lynsey S - Oh I struggled very slowly over the last few miles. The vest says Thurrock Nomads and I think the club still exists..
25 years? Wow! Why are you the only one who doesn't look like they're about to pass out? You must have been extremely fit!

ReplyDeleteHow cool are you doing that! I wish I was fit enough to do it xx
ReplyDelete@Beadzoid - well fairly, but if you look carefully, you'll notice that most of the people I'm running with are about 25 years OLDER than me!
ReplyDelete@Di - 89 KM, WOW, that will be some achievement, wishing him the very best of luck x
@Heather Lucas - Maybe one day, it's hard to find time to train when you have young children xx
