Picture the scene.
It's 6 am.
On a Sunday.
"Muuuum!"
Make it go away. Muttered.
"MUUUUUUM!"
"Yes?"
Said in a resigned voice.
"I want to get up!"
"Son, I really need to sleep."
The door opens...
"You're yawning!"
"I know. I'm tired!"
"Well, then. Go. Back. To. Sleep."
"No. It's boring."
ARRGGGHHH!
Rolls over and tries to stuff duvet in ears.
"You know that necromancers are really cool?"
"Whaaaaat?"
"They bring back the dead to fight for them."
"I really, really don't care, I just want to sleep..."
Whispered.
He's 11.
Tell me, will this ever stop?

I match your 6am and raise you to 5am and "Noodle Market"
ReplyDelete@Grace App - I don't know how you do it!
ReplyDelete*sighs knowingly* There are some battles you just can't win.
ReplyDelete5.30am religiously every day and she snorts at me until I come downstairs and put on peppa pig. She is 2, god help me.

ReplyDelete@Midlife Singlemum - not yet anyway...
ReplyDelete@northernmum - I think snorting would wake me too :)
@Floortime Lite Mama - hopefully R will grow out of it x
I guess it doesn't end until they're teenagers then all they want to do is sleep! Kids!!!
ReplyDeleteWell, it's similar in our house, the difference is that one sneaks out of the room silently, the other is loud enough to wake up the dead... But guess who I hear first?... :o)
ReplyDeleteThis is a battle which you can't win, no matter how you try... Exceptance is the only way... :o)
Sorry...
Oh gawd the pain!
ReplyDeleteI love my sleep, and those mornings are torture.
Loving the art! XXX
@Village Mama UK - And I've a teenager as well, so I'm caught at both ends of the day!

ReplyDeletexx Jazzy
He heeeeeeee! Love it!
ReplyDeleteNecromancers are kind of cool, just not at that time in the morning I guess. In our experience, the early mornings may very well stop at 12. formerly a VERY early riser we now struggle to get him out of bed before midday x
My stepson, that is (thought I'd better clarify):)
ReplyDelete@The Bright Side of Life - Lol
ReplyDelete@jazzygal - the conversations are just priceless aren't they xx
@Beadzoid - yep, agree about the necromancers and yes my teen often sleeps in to midday too...x
Ouch...6am on a Sunday :(
ReplyDeleteObviously I'm not sure if this would work with Aspergers but what about one of those clocks that changes colour to let them know when it's 'OK' to get up?
xx
p.s. Can you tell I'm on blog catch up tonight? ;)
@Heather Lucas - you are the absolute best at blog catch ups xx
