Reasons to be cheerful 16.7.15

I delayed publishing this post today because I thought that I would have some really good news to add, but sadly it wasn't to be. But things have to get better eventually, don't they?

Anyway I'm not about to give up any time soon, so here are my reasons to be cheerful for this week:

Laya Healthcare City Spectacular

This wonderful free festival combines the Street Performance World Championships with lots of other activities to keep children entertained, occupied and fed. It had colour, noise, activity and energy, everything that my special young lady adores, and she was in her element during the couple of hours we spent there checking out the attractions.

My favourite act, so funny and not a word was spoken :)
Smiley's favourite act, but why perform in front of the loos?

Into the deep end

Smiley's swimming session went well again, and now that she can swim independently, we went in the deep end, so I got a bit of exercise too...

Watching a film at home with Angel

An evening of just the two of us curled up on the sofa and Insurgent on the telly.

Little bits of progress

My son deciding that I needed cheering up, so we cleaned his den together, went through some paperwork and even had a brief discussion about a couple of topics that cannot usually be mentioned at all. Quite encouraging while it lasted.

Organising something for my son meant

an unexpected lunch out in Ikea with my girls followed by a brief trip to town. Smiley was very happy indeed, and so was I after discovering that she now likes Swedish meatballs! Meanwhile Angel got in lots of driving practice. Surely she will get that licence soon...

    1. Thank you! My special needs daughter rarely likes the texture of meat, but she made an exception for the meatballs, so I'd say there will be more visits soon :)

  8. That does look like a fantastic day out! Mine would rather Ikea though lol. Glad you are soaking up Angel time before she goes anywhere. As for your son wanting to cheer you up, that is progress on it's own. Hope you get some more reasons to smile, this summer. Hopefully it will rain, then your boy will be happy xx
